HAITIAN PM INVOLVED IN MOÏSE ASSASINATION SAYS JUDGE

CNN has reportedly obtained a recording where Judge Garry Orélien, who presided over President Jovenel Moïse’s assassination case, allegedly says the current Prime Minister of Haiti, Ariel Henry, is connected to Moise’s assignation.

Orélien said in the recording, taken in fall of 2021 and obtained exclusively by CNN, that “Ariel (Henry) is connected and friends with the mastermind of the assassination. They planned it with him. Ariel is a prime suspect of Jovenel Moïse’s assassination, and he knows it,”

CNN says they have “verified the recording by comparing it to other known recordings of Orélien and through extensive conversations CNN has had with him, as well as from voice messages. Orélien did not know he was being recorded.”

They also say that after asking Orélien about the recording he responded by saying he does not “recall talking to anyone about the case in great detail.”

He also purportedly said: “Lots of people are trying to influence the case and I will not play their game.”

News of this recording comes on the heels of several protests and unrest in Haiti as Haitian civilians demand Prime Minister Henry steps down.

President Moïse was assassinated in July of 2021 at his Presidential residence. He was shot a dozen times and killed. His wife, Martine Moïse, survived the attack, but sustained injuries having been shot at several times as well.
