A brazen daylight robbery has come under investigation in St John.
According to police, about 1:00 pm on Wednesday, three masked assailants launched an attack on Imperial Jewelers located at the Mongoose Junction Shopping and Dining Facility.
The perpetrators, described as black males wearing bandannas across their faces and dark coloured hoodies reportedly barged into the store brandishing firearms. They then proceeded to smash glass casings with hammers and grab as much jewelry as they could before fleeing to a getaway car waiting conveniently near Northshore Road.
No one was injured during the incident.
Efforts are ongoing to determine the value of the goods stolen, and the damages made to the store during the attack.
As investigations continue the Virgin Islands Police Department is appealing to members of the public to provide any information that may be valuable.
