Four talented athletes from the British Virgin Islands are in Saint Lucia to proudly represent the territory at the 2024 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Senior Volleyball Championships.
The tournament, spanning from February 23 to 25, promises thrilling volleyball action, showcasing the best talents from eight of the competing Eastern Caribbean countries.
In the men’s competition, the dynamic duo of J’Adon George and José Ramirez will spearhead the British Virgin Islands’ campaign, while the women’s team boasts the formidable pairing of Zoe Richards and Makaila Powell.
The participating nations include Saint Lucia, Anguilla, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Bermuda, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
For Richards and Powell, their tournament journey kicks off on Friday at 9:00 a.m. when they face off against Dominica. Following a brief break, they will return to the court at 12:20 p.m. to take on the host nation, Saint Lucia.
In the men’s competition, George and Ramirez are set to make their debut on the tournament stage at 1:10 p.m. on Friday, going head-to-head against the home team, Saint Lucia.
President of the Virgin Islands Volleyball Association, Willis Potter, expressed delight at having the British Virgin Islands represented at this prestigious regional competition.
In an interview with 284 Media, Potter conveyed the association’s enthusiasm and pride in supporting their athletes as they showcase their skills and determination on the eastern Caribbean stage.
