JAKOB, DANIEL AND DELILAH ADVANCE TO THE JR CARIBBEAN SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIPS SEMI-FINALS

BVI national squash players Jakob Noblett, Daniel Henderson, and Delilah Pease have all secured spots in the semi-finals of the Nagico and Interpath Junior Caribbean Squash Association Championships 2024.

Playing at the Tortola Sports Club on day one of the competition on Sunday, Noblett demonstrated his skill and dominance in the Boys Under 13 division by defeating Vithala Chattergoon of Trinidad and Tobago in straight sets, 11-1, 11-6, 11-2.

Daniel Henderson, competing in the Boys Under 17 division, had an outstanding day with two victories. He swiftly overcame Guyana’s Demetri Lowe in just 13 minutes, winning 11-1, 11-3, 11-0. Henderson continued his winning streak by defeating William Frith of Bermuda in three sets, 11-3, 11-5, 11-0, showcasing his consistency and strategic gameplay.

In the Girls Under 11 division, 9-year-old Delilah Pease shone brightly by defeating Aabiyah Ramdeen of Trinidad and Tobago in straight sets, 11-5, 11-0, 11-5. Pease’s agility and determination were evident as she outplayed her older opponent with ease.

Looking ahead to the semi-finals on Monday, Noblett is set to face Ethan Cyrus of Barbados on Court 3 at 6:00 p.m. Pease will take on Varenya Singh of Jamaica on Court 4 at 7:00 p.m., followed by Henderson’s match against Bermuda’s Eli Carpol on Court 2 at 8:00 p.m.

BVI National Squash Coach Adam Murrills expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, highlighting their 10 wins from 17 games played.

Meanwhile, Pease expressed her excitement and determination after her impressive win.
