BVI athletes Kyron McMaster and Adaejah Hodge have advanced to the semi-finals in their respective events at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in France.
McMaster, competing in Heat 1 of Round 1 in the Men’s 400-meter hurdles, secured his spot in the by placing third with a time of 49.24 seconds. American Rai Benjamin won the heat, clocking 48.82 seconds. McMaster will compete in the semi-final on Wednesday, August 7, at 1:35 p.m. BVI time.
Adaejah Hodge faced a challenging Round 1 in the Women’s 200 meters, where she placed fifth with a time of 23.00 seconds. This placement qualified her for the repechage event, offering a second chance at the semifinals.
Hodge seized the opportunity, finishing second in Heat 1 of the repechage round with a time of 22.94 seconds, earning her spot in the semi-finals. She will compete in Semi-final 1 this afternoon at 2:45 p.m. BVI time, facing tough competitors such as Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred and American McKenzie Long.
