ADAEJAH ADVANCES TO 100M SEMIFINALS AT WORLD U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS

The British Virgin Islands sprinting sensation Adaejah Hodge has successfully advanced to the semifinals of the women’s 100-metre event at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.

Competing in Heat 1 on Tuesday, August 27, Hodge delivered a stellar performance, clocking an impressive time of 11.45 seconds to secure first place. Running out of lane 9, she outpaced her competitors, including Kishawna Nile of Barbados who was not too far behind, who finished second with a time of 11.63 seconds, and Uliana Stepaniuk of Ukraine, who came in third with 11.82 seconds. All three athletes have qualified for the semifinal round.

Hodge’s semifinal race is scheduled for later this evening at 5:35 p.m. BVI time, where she will look to continue her strong form and secure a spot in the finals.

In addition to her 100-metre campaign, Hodge is set to compete in the women’s 200-metre event on Thursday, August 29, at 11:15 a.m. BVI time, where she will aim to add another impressive performance to her already remarkable showing at the championships.
