Adaejah Hodge has earned a silver medal at the World Athletics Under 20 Championships after finishing second in the women’s 100-metre final in Lima, Peru, on Wednesday.
Competing from lane 8, Hodge delivered her best performance of the competition, clocking an impressive 11.27 seconds.
The race was won by Jamaica’s Alana Reid, who took gold with a time of 11.17 seconds. Barbados’ Kishawna Niles claimed the bronze medal, finishing in 11.37 seconds.
Hodge’s journey to the final included a second-place finish in her semifinal heat and a win in her preliminary round, showcasing her consistency and determination throughout the event.
With the 100-metre race behind her, Hodge now sets her sights on the Women’s 200-metre event, scheduled for Thursday, August 29, at 11:15 a.m. BVI time. She aims to continue her remarkable showing at the championships with another stellar performance.
