ARCHERY SUCCESS: BVI TEAM BRINGS HOME 12 MEDALS FROM JAMAICA

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) archery team made a triumphant return home after an impressive performance at the 2024 WAAm Caribbean Development Championship, held in Kingston, Jamaica.

The team brought back a remarkable haul of 12 medals, consisting of 3 gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze.

Leading the way for team BVI was Kellyann Tillack, who excelled in the Recurve Beginner Under 15/18 Combined Women’s category. Tillack earned a gold medal in the Individual category, a silver in the Women’s Doubles, and a bronze in the Mixed Team event. She also claimed gold for the Caribbean Developmental League, cementing her status as a rising star in BVI archery.

In the Compound Developmental Under 18/Senior Women Combined category, Naomi Onwufuju clinched a gold medal, while Javlyn Frett and Keyara Smith contributed to the medal tally with silver and bronze, respectively.

Keandre Matthew added to the team’s success in the Recurve Beginner Under 15/18 category, securing a bronze medal in the Individual event, a silver in the Mixed Team event, and another bronze in the Doubles category.

Kasadiya Baird rounded off the medal count for team BVI, competing in the Compound Beginner Under 15 category. She earned a bronze and a silver, contributing to the team’s overall success at the tournament.

Coaches Ritseeniyah Georges and Patrick Smith were instrumental in guiding the team throughout the tournament, which took place from September 18 to 22. Their dedication and expertise played a crucial role in the team’s remarkable achievements.
