Saint Lucia’s sprint sensation and reigning Olympic 100-metre champion Julien Alfred has been awarded the prestigious title of Best Female Athlete of the Paris 2024 Olympics by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).
Alfred, who clinched gold in the women’s 100-metre and silver in the 200-metre at the Paris Games, received the honour on Wednesday during a ceremony held in Cascais, Portugal.
The young athlete expressed her immense gratitude, calling the award “a dream come true.” Proudly representing Saint Lucia, Alfred reflected on the journey leading to this moment and the pride she felt in bringing glory to her nation on the global stage.
The Saint Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC) commended Alfred’s incredible achievement, praising her inspirational role in athletics.
