The British Virgin Islands (BVI) netball team is set to make history as they host their first international tournament, the Tropical Netball Tournament, from Friday, November 15, to Sunday, November 17.
The three-day event will see the BVI face off against rivals, the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Road Town, Tortola.
This tournament comes on the heels of the BVI’s remarkable performance at the Battle of the Saints tournament in St. Maarten last month, where they earned a silver medal and climbed into the top 48 of World Netball’s rankings. The team is eager to capitalize on this momentum and showcase their talent on home soil.
The main games will take place each evening at 6:00 p.m., with two additional bonus matches scheduled over the weekend. Admission is priced affordably at $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for children under four years old, making it accessible for all to come and enjoy the action.
Head Coach Mandi Atack expressed her enthusiasm for the tournament, encouraging the community to turn out and support the team.
This weekend’s event promises to be an exciting showcase of talent and sportsmanship, with the BVI team ready to demonstrate their prowess and build on their recent success.
