RTW FALCONS CLAIM 2024 PETER HAYCRAFT T10 CRICKET TITLE

The RTW Falcons emerged as the 2024 Peter Haycraft T10 Cricket Tournament champions after defeating Royal Knights by 12 runs in a thrilling final at Greenland, East End, on Sunday, November 24.

The Falcons set a competitive total of 121-4, powered by Damron Prince’s explosive 53 off 25 balls, while Joel Williams (34) and Austin McDowall (21*) provided valuable support. Despite Reno Mettleholzer and Kellon London claiming two wickets each for the Knights, the Falcons’ total proved challenging.

Royal Knights, in their chase, were restricted to 109-5.

Despite an outstanding unbeaten 67 from Keion De Jesus, wickets fell around him, and the Falcons’ bowling attack, led by Morry Olliveirre’s match-winning figures of 4-19, sealed the victory.

This win marked a significant achievement for the Falcons, who claimed silverware for the first time in eight years. Olliveirre’s performance was pivotal, earning him the Player of the Match award.

In the third-place playoff, the Vikings defeated the Cavaliers by six wickets. Batting first, the Cavaliers posted 109-6 off 8.3 overs, with Vishal Bharat top-scoring with an even 50. The Vikings quickly chased down the target, scoring 111-4 in 8.5 overs, led by Jieunick Mingo’s 51 not out and Timothy Sookram’s 36.

On the bowling side, Neil Niles and Mingo each took two wickets for the Vikings. Avishkar Sewkarran was the only standout bowler for the Cavaliers with figures of 2-25.
