Ephraim Penn has been re-elected as President of the British Virgin Islands Olympic Committee (BVIOC) for a historic fifth term during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on December 5, 2024.
The event, hosted at the BVIOC Office, Road Reef Plaza, Tortola, saw the election of new and returning officers to lead the committee for the 2024–2028 quadrennial.
Joining Penn on the Executive Committee are returning members Sabinah Clement as 1st Vice President, Lloyd Black as Secretary General, and Mark Chapman as Treasurer. Ashley Kelly, previously the Athletes’ Commission Representative, is the newly elected 2nd Vice President, and Zebalon McLean takes on the Member At Large role.
Speaking to 284 Media following the news, Penn noted that it was a humbling experience to be re-elected and congratulated his new executive member as well as commended the outgoing members Ralston Henry and Gloria Fahie for their contributions.
The general meeting also welcomed the sports of Cricket and Surfing as new national federations, moving the total federations in the territory to 18.
The elections were overseen by an independent commission comprising Wayne Robinson, Rhennie Phipps, and Makalia Smith.
