The pristine natural beauty of Virgin Gorda has earned the island a well-deserved spot on Travel and Leisure magazine’s “15 Best Places to Travel in April” list.
The article told readers that as the third-largest island in the BVI archipelago, Virgin Gorda offers a quintessential Caribbean escape with its pristine beaches, luxury resorts, national parks, and top-notch opportunities for swimming, diving, snorkelling and boating.
Virgin Gorda was the only Caribbean destination that made the list.
Emily Oakes, Vice President of Business at the Oil Nut Bay resort was quoted in the article highlighting why April is an ideal time to visit. “The crystal blue waters and temperate weather, along with fewer crowds compared to earlier in the year, make April a lovely time to visit our beautiful island,” she said.
“Travelers wishing to fully immerse themselves in the island can book tours to explore The Baths, see Devil’s Bay National Park, and even scuba dive to the Wreck of the Chikuzen”, Oakes added.
The magazine specifically recommends three of the BVI’s most acclaimed resorts on Virgin Gorda – Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Bitter End Yacht Club, and Oil Nut Bay – for luxurious accommodations and stunning ocean views.
This latest acclaim from Travel and Leisure comes on the heels of the magazine naming Virgin Gorda #1 on the “17 Most Beautiful Caribbean Islands” list in 2023, urging travellers to add the must-visit destination to their bucket lists.
While the spotlight shines brightest on Virgin Gorda, the article notes that nearby islands like Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Anegada, and several private island resorts make the British Virgin Islands an idyllic and multifaceted tropical destination.
