INCLEMENT WEATHER RENDERS POCKWOOD POND AREA IMPASSABLE

The effects of the inclement weather currently impacting the British Virgin Islands have rendered the Sir Francis Drake Highway at Pockwood Pond impassable.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has issued an advisory for motorists heading past Pockwood Pond and towards the western end of the island to use alternate routes through the hills until further notice.

In an official bulletin, the police noted that members of the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service are actively working to address the issue to clear the aforementioned section of the highway.

Authorities are urging motorists to remain cautious and patient while the necessary work is being conducted.

Updates on the situation and when the highway will be cleared will be provided as they become available.
