In an effort to further encourage residents to get vaccinated, Washington state’s liquor and cannabis board has launched the “Joints for Jabs” campaign, which will temporarily allow state-licensed cannabis retailers to give a free joint to adults who get the vaccine.
This initiative remains in effect until July 12.
The board has stipulated that cannabis retailers can only provide pre-roll joints to customers 21 years and older who have received their first or second COVID vaccination shot.
The board recently announced another initiative mean to encourage residents to get vaccinated, free drinks.
Liquor licensees were given the option to offer an alcoholic drink to customers who presented proof of vaccination. This promotion ends on June 30.
To date, over 3.7 million people are fully vaccinated in Washington state. Over 4 million people have received at least one dose.
With the Biden administration pushing to reach its goal of 70% of the population vaccinated by July 4, several states have launched promotional programmes and are offering incentives to encourage people to get the COVID vaccine.
Almost 64 per cent of adults in the United States of America have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
