PRINCESS RETURNS TO PUBLIC DUTIES FOLLOWING SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT

The Princess of Wales announced Tuesday her cancer is in remission, sharing the news during a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London where she received treatment earlier this year.

Kate expressed gratitude for the medical care she received at the world-leading cancer center, known for its pioneering research. “We couldn’t have asked for more,” she said in a social media statement. “The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional.”

The princess, making her first solo visit to the hospital’s main entrance, noted the difference from her previous private visits.

Kensington Palace indicated the princess will gradually return to public engagements, describing the hospital visit as reflecting her “own personal cancer journey.”

The announcement follows a challenging year for the royal family’s health. In January 2024, both King Charles III underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate and Kate had abdominal surgery. The king’s cancer diagnosis was revealed in February, followed weeks later by Kate’s own cancer announcement, which ended months of public speculation about her condition. The princess completed her chemotherapy treatment in September.
